THE ONLY SEAFOOD RESTAURANT IN MARGARET RIVER

     During their honeymoon, Silvia Koehler, a Swiss wine importer, and Herbert Heiss, a German dentist, fell in love with the stunning beauty of Australia’s South West, the excellent wines and mouth-watering culinary products of the Margaret River Region.  In June 2013, they purchased Waves, a simple BYO restaurant specialised in tasty seafood.  They immediately realised the huge potential of this pleasant corner restaurant located at the top end of Margaret River, with its nice, large alfresco area and a hidden, never used stone fireplace.  After several months of renovations and a lot of hard work and dedication, Katch-Up, is now licensed and invites diners to experience its casual yet stylish ambience.  The sheltered, enclosed and heatable alfresco dining area provides an ideal atmosphere not only in the warmer months, while the cosy stone fireplace and the comfortable sofa in front of it create the perfect retreat in the winter time.  In just a few years, Katch-Up has evolved to a new Margaret River favourite.

The highly qualified European chefs running the open kitchen are passionate about creating innovative dishes influenced by the cuisines of their countries of origin.  The focus is always on quality fish and seafood with changing specials with local, seasonal fish such as Nanagai or Dhufish.  Our commitment to using local and seasonal produce is of primary importance.  Besides seafood and fish, we offer a variety of meat dishes and vegetarian options and we also cater for special dietary requirements.

One of Katch-Up’s all-time favourites is the marron, the highly appreciated and sought after freshwater crayfish native to Australia’s South West.  Fresh, half and whole marron from Donnybrook, are served all year round as an entrée or a main course.  However, to indulge in a unique and unforgettable seafood treat, our legendary seafood platter for two with two whole Donnybrook marron, one in the cold and one in the hot section, is a must.

It is the foremost goal of the kitchen and floor team to make our guests feel welcome and at home and to fulfil all their needs and wishes where possible.
